Tree Source's Deposit-Hold Program lets landscape professionals reserve specific material for future delivery with a deposit — most often the hard-to-find specimen trees a job hinges on. When a project depends on a particular variety, a larger caliper, or a specimen you can't count on re-sourcing, a deposit takes it off the market and sets it aside for you, at the price you lock in today. Pair it with a B&B tree allocation or plant sourcing request to secure an entire job ahead of the season.
The material most worth reserving is the material you can't count on finding twice — specimen-grade and larger-caliper trees, specific cultivars, and seasonal stock that sells out at the peak. Demand for these outpaces supply, and the best specimens get spoken for first. A deposit hold takes the exact trees your job needs off the market and sets them aside for you, at today's price. No scrambling for substitutes when the schedule hits, and no surprise increases between now and delivery. You decide what to hold, for how long, and we handle the rest.
Deposits are non-refundable and are applied directly to your order at pickup or shipment. The deposit is calculated only on the material you choose to hold — not your entire order.
About 10 days before your hold expires, your Tree Source rep reaches out so you can choose how to proceed:
A deposit secures your plants and your price without paying for the full order up front. For qualified customers, flexible terms on the balance make planning ahead even easier on your working capital.
Tell your Tree Source sales rep, or request a quote, which material and quantities you want to reserve. We confirm your hold period and deposit, you sign a short holding agreement, and once your deposit clears the bank, your material is flagged and held as yours.
Deposits are non-refundable. They are applied to your order when you take the material. The one exception: if Tree Source cannot supply the reserved item or an acceptable substitute, your deposit stays available to use on another order.
No. The deposit is calculated only on the specific material you choose to hold. The remainder of your order is unaffected, and you settle it as usual.
Yes, for the length of the original hold period. If you extend beyond that term with a new hold, pricing may change to reflect current rates.
Yes, subject to availability. If the change increases your deposit amount, we collect the difference. Reducing the held material does not lower a deposit already placed; it is applied to the remaining material at pickup.
Choose a 90-, 120-, or 180-day hold, with deposits of 30%, 40%, or 50% of the held material’s value. Your price is locked for the full term you select.
Tell us what your project needs and we'll set up your hold — so you know the plants will be there, at the price you locked.
